NHTSA Recommended Best Importer Practices
 
“Recommended Best Importer Practices to Enhance the Safety of Imported Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Equipment” from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) provides guidance concerning best practices to be followed by importers of motor vehicles and motor vehicle equipment to reduce the likelihood of importing products that contain defects related to motor vehicle safety or do not comply with applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

TSEI, MVLC & MEMA Joint FMVSS 108 Lighting Comments
 

The automotive and heavy duty truck lighting industry supports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) re-examination and clarification of the important federal safety standard for vehicle lighting equipment, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108. These comments were submitted jointly by the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), the Transportation Safety Equipment Institute (TSEI) and the Motor Vehicle Lighting Council (MVLC).
